I am pleased to be doing a national training for the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys on the Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children (ICPC). Here are some more details. This intensive program is open to all lawyers and paralegals.

AAAA ICPC Bootcamp 2025

AAAA ICPC BOOTCAMP 2025 will be a comprehensive review of the History of the Association of Administrators of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (AAICPC) and the law governing the movement of children from one state to another for purposes of adoption.

Participants will have a deep dive into the statutes and regulations, including those for public and private adoption. We will discuss practical information and exercises to craft an application packet that will succeed in approval. We will discuss strategies for dealing with state requests and client concerns, including state specific requirements from across the country. We will explore how to "reverse engineer" applications, state attorney registration requirements, multiple state involvement applications, and how to make it easy for state administrators to approve your packet. We will also explore strategies to make your clients' travel and time away from home easier, notifying clients of approvals or delays, conditional approval issues and how to complete the process after finalization. Presenters will discuss real world cases to illustrate problem-solving techniques. 

This program is designed for newer attorneys wanting a comprehensive training on ICPC law and practice; paralegals who assist in ICPC matters; experienced attorneys wanted to brush up on their skills and AAAA Provisional Adopt Fellows seeking to apply to for Full membership.
