Good afternoon Family Law Section members,

On Thursday, Oct. 7, NJICLE will present Webcast- When Attorneys Lie: Practical and Ethical Issues from 12 to 1:40 p.m.

New Jersey Courts give attorneys and the parties they represent a long leash in litigation by permitting robust debate and tolerating vitriol, hyperbole, and exaggeration between opposing parties. But when lawyers step over the line, judges may act. Where is the line between zealous advocacy and a lie? What should judges do when an attorney’s statement, made either in or out of court, presents a danger to the public? Our informative noon-time webinar featuring retired Appellate Court Presiding Judge Ellen Koblitz and ethics expert Kim Ringler explores these critical issues.
