Good morning Family Law Section members,

On Friday, March 17, NJICLE  in cooperation with the NJSBA Family Law Section will present Webcast- Relocation and Custody from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Few cases are as fraught with emotion as those involving child custody. New Jersey law and public policy encourage frequent contact between children and their parents and seek to have both parents share in the rights and responsibilities of raising their children.

However, contentious proceedings, or issues of relocation can make this very difficult even when the parties are well-meaning. Moreover, without time proven strategies, the legal and emotional issues can be particularly difficult to navigate for a new lawyer or for an attorney who is new to the area of family law.

Join us for a practical, informative seminar that will prepare you to confidently handle both the legal and emotional aspects of child custody and relocation cases in New Jersey. Seasoned family law attorneys will review the basics of child custody, visitation and relocation law and provide you with a solid understanding of the applicable statutes and case law, the terms you need to know, and strategies for dealing with combative clients and adversaries. You will come away with a strong knowledge of child custody law and the interplay between the law and the psychological ramifications of custody disputes so that you can confidently represent your clients.
