Good afternoon Family Law Section members,

On Tuesday, Aug. 25, NJICLE will present Webcast- NJ Gun Law: Case Update, Permitting Issues, Extreme Risk Protective Orders, and Domestic Seizures and Forfeitures from 2 to 5 p.m.

New Jersey has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. As an attorney you may retained by a client seeking to purchase a gun, as well as by a client faced with a gun charge. An understanding of the law and regulations is imperative to insure adequate representation of your client in both of these situations.

At this convenient afternoon program, a judge, a criminal defense attorney, a civil rights attorney, and two prosecutors have joined together to share up-to-date information on the topic of firearms law in NJ. They will begin with a discussion of “justifiable need” to carry a gun and the recent US Supreme Court case that the Court declined to hear-- Rogers v. Gurbir Grewal. Following the case law update, the panel will explore recent developments in permitting issues, the latest on seizures and forfeitures in domestic violence cases, and extreme risk protective orders.
