Good afternoon Family Law Section members,

On Thursday, Feb. 11, NJICLE will present Webcast- Effective Virtual Arbitration & Mediation: Getting The Best Results For Your Clients in the Age of COVID-19 from 12 to 1:30 p.m.

Virtual arbitrations and mediations call for extra planning to ensure that you are communicating effectively with your client, your adversary, and the dispute resolution neutral. At the same time, you must keep privileged communications private and the proceedings secure – all while ensuring that any necessary materials are easy to access, display, and/or transmit.

Featuring Some of New Jersey’s Most Respected Experts
Hon. Patricia Costello spent 25 years on the bench, and 10 of them as an Assignment Judge in New Jersey’s largest vicinage. Hon. Harriet Derman served as the Presiding Chancery Judge in Somerset, Warren and Hunterdon Counties from 2006-2009, and was a Presiding Civil Judge and a Probate Judge.

Together with Caroline Sprance, who has years of experience in litigation support, the panel will draw on their wealth of knowledge and insight to provide you with practical advice and concrete strategies to help you to confidently arbitrate or mediate your cases.

Practical Skills You Can Incorporate Directly Into Your Practice
Conducting a virtual mediation or arbitration can be challenging for even the most experienced practitioners, and getting the best result for the clients you represent often depends on the strategies you use. As an attendee, you’ll learn how a successful settlement in the age of COVID is often the result of strategy, planning, presentation skills, and technology, and will walk away with a virtual roadmap to apply those tools to the cases you represent and achieve the best possible results for your clients.
