Good afternoon Family Law Section members,

On Wednesday, Oct. 19, NJICLE will present Webcast- Assisted Reproduction, Adoption and Surrogacy: The Dobbs Decision and Its Effects from 12 to 3 p.m.

On June 24th, 2022, the United States Supreme Court decided Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. With this decision, the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and Casey v. Planned Parenthood, the landmark cases recognizing a woman’s Constitutional right to obtain an abortion. The impact on family building law is just starting to be evaluated. This seminar will provide an evaluation of Dobbs v. Jackson and how the state-by-state approach to abortion law, personhood law and other restrictions to reproductive freedom and medical care may impact people seeking to build their families through adoption and assisted and third-party reproduction.
