Good afternoon Family Law Section members,

On Saturday, Oct. 24, NJICLE in cooperation with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers -
New Jersey Chapter and the Matrimonial Lawyers Alliance will present Webcast - Arbitrating Family Law Cases from 9 a.m. to 12:35 p.m.

Divorce litigation can become financially and emotionally costly. Many attorneys and their clients favor mediation, but it may not be suitable in cases where it is unlikely that parties can hash out an agreement.

When parties want to avoid the time and costs of litigation, or if they need access to a decision maker when court access is limited by the pandemic, their attorneys should recommend arbitration. It provides an expedited process, finality, and more privacy than the courts. Long used in labor and employment cases, the New Jersey Supreme Court gave arbitration in family matters a strong endorsement in 2015.

Our presenters serve on the committee which made the arbitration recommendation to the Supreme Court. During the program, they will highlight the arbitration rules and discuss why you should encourage your clients to consider using arbitration. Register today to learn how arbitration can enhance your family law practice.
