    On Tuesday, Aug. 25, NJICLE will present Webcast- A Special Look Inside the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey During the Pandemic – What Lawyers Can Learn from How this Billion Dollar Organization is Handling the Crisis from 9 to 11 a.m.

    Throughout the current pandemic, the Port Authority has kept all its facilities open and operating to get necessary food, fuel, and medical supplies into the region and to get essential workers safely to their jobs and back home. The agency has changed the operating footprints of its facilities, enhanced security and maintenance protocols, and has implemented additional cleaning and disinfecting protocols. The Port Authority continues to monitor and update its procedures to keep us safe and meet the needs of the region as the current situation unfolds.

    The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey keeps this entire region moving by air, land, rail and sea. This vast organization employs over 8,000 people and has a global reach that includes both critical infrastructure and essential operations.

    The PANYNJ is responsible for five airports that move both people and cargo: JFK, La Guardia, Newark Liberty, Stewart International and Teterboro; bridges and tunnels: The George Washington Bridge, the Lincoln Tunnel, the Holland Tunnel, the Goethals Bridge, the Outerbridge Crossing and the Bayonne Bridge; three bus terminals: The Port Authority Midtown Bus Terminal, the Journal Square Transportation Center and the George Washington Bridge Bus Station; the PATH and its thirteen stations in New York and New Jersey; and, of course, the World Trade Center and its Oculus Transportation Hub. Activity volumes in 2019 hit record highs:140.5 million passengers moved through the airports; 82.2 million passengers rode the PATH; 7.5 million cargo containers came through the marine terminals and there were 122.2 million east bound vehicles that drove the bridges tunnels.

    CLE Credits:
    NJ CLE information: This program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 2.4 hours of total CLE credit.
    NJ CLE: This program has been approved for 2.4 credits (50 minute hour)
    PA CLE: 2.0 substantive credits pending ($8 fee – separate check payable to NJICLE must be submitted at the end of the program)
    NY CLE (nt): 2.0 professional practice credits

    The tuition for NJSBA members is $119. The general tuition is $139.
