  • 1.  Voluntary Surrender of Rights (Not DCPP-related)

    Posted 02-24-2015 02:01 PM
I have a client who would like her husband/step father adopt her son.  The biological father agrees to surrender his rights to allow this to happen, but resides in Florida.  I have done voluntary surrenders many times through DCPP cases but I don't know how it is done privately. Is this a motion or application? Any thoughts would be helpful!

Alexandra, this is a step-parent adoption.  Read the statute and the rules and draft accordingly...

    Alexandra:

If you send me your email, I can send you the forms for a step-parent adoption.
