We are starting things off with a three-things bonus update. There have been a batch of updates from the Courts to share and some exciting events are coming soon.

Here are several updates and Court notices that may be relevant to your practice area:

• The drug court program will now be known as New Jersey Recovery Court.
• The annual attorney online registration is open starting Jan. 5.
• There's a revised protocol for waiver of first appearance.
• COVID-19-related: a grand jury update and healthcare professionals are not required to appear in court or for depositions.
• Keep this one handy, the Judiciary's page for state court closing information.
• There's a new rule about professional malpractice insurance.

• The Diversity Committee invites everyone to attend its annual New Year's Kick-Off. Get the details.
• The NJSBA's PracticeHQ will present a free webinar on this month to help you with $$$$, specifically billing and trust accounting.
• The NJSBA is joining with the state and federal bar to swear-in recently admitted attorneys. If you know anyone who fits the bill, please share the details to register in-person or virtually.
