Hello Family Law Section members,
On
Saturday, June 5, NJICLE will present
Texts, Lies and Videotape? Ethical Considerations for Legal Investigations in 2018 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the
New Jersey Law Center. This is an all-new 2018 update to the popular 2017 program consisting of practical advice for the legal practitioner who seeks or conducts investigations related to business transactions,
family law, criminal defense, trusts and estates and all manner of civil litigation including pre-suit and pre-trial discovery. The program will include a panel discussion on how the Rules of Court and Rules of Professional Conduct intersect when a lawyer consults/hires a third party to assist in the investigation; conducts asset searches and personal surveillance in
family, criminal or civil matters; and due diligence regarding third parties in business transactions.
Join us to learn what you are doing right, what you are doing wrong and how you can do more for your clients while staying within the bounds of our legal and ethical rules with the assistance of private investigators, forensic examiners, financial consultants and other technical professionals. We will look at all of this under the backdrop of the latest developments in case law and statutory law in the past year.
