Hi. My friends, Tom and Jack, live in Galveston, Texas. They are planning a wedding at the Flemington Inn in August 2014.
I want to be certain of the answer so I'm asking all of you. My understanding is that they can get a NJ license to marry but they would have to apply for the license while physically in NJ? and they have a 3 business day waiting period before the township will issue the license?
Next: do they have to get the license in the Flemington Municipality or can they get it in any municipality in NJ?
The kicker: Tom's sister-in-law is now your cliched 'universal life minister'. Will NJ recognize her performing and signing the marriage license?
Thanks folks.
