Question:  I am in the process of going from a solo to a partnership.  Must I file a substitution of attorney for my active files to reflect the change?  I have already updated the attorney registration info, but I can't get a straight answer from the Court on this matter.  Any advice appreciated!

Marlene, when I went from a one partnership to another partnership and then from my last partnership to my own firm, I prepared Substitutions of Attorney for all active files. I signed the Sub of Attorneys for the old firm and for the new firm and filed all with the Court. I believe that you are required to file Substitutions on all active files to reflect that the new partnership is now the attorney/firm of record.

    Hope this helps.

I did that as well. And I bet they will want the $35 fee with each one.
