Is there a limit to a stipulation to extend time to answer a complaint?  H filed CP and now the parties are in counseling.  We extended for 6 weeks and no decisions.  H doesn't seen to want to WD the CP even though there is no fee if he re-files within 12 months.  Can we stipulate to extend time for 6 months?

No. You can enter into a contract to preserve the coverture termination date, if that's what he's concerned about. Some vicinages used to have so-called "inactive lists." I may be mistaken, but I believe that the idea of the inactive list was abolished at around September 2006.

I think you would have to run that past the Judge.  From what I've seen, most judges will tell the plaintiff  to dismiss the complaint without prejudice and, as Curt indicated, preserve the coverture date.
