Get an order, if necessary, requiring the adverse party to sign an authorization for you to get the emails. You may need to agree to the judge reviewing them in camera as there could be significant privacy concerns.
I had a case once where one party was selling on eBay and with the authorization, I got eBay, based In California, to send me the records of all sales and purchases.

Good day list mates. I need to serve a subpoena on google to obtain emails from a defendant. I have one redacted email and need more - defendant is not responsive in giving me the discovery I need.
