  • 1.  Seeking referral to help client set up tax exempt status for non-profit organization

    Posted 09-28-2016 11:24 AM

    Hi Everyone:

An acquaintance of mine is seeking a referral to an attorney who can help her non-profit organization achieve 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status so it can accept donations.  The non-profit provides drama classes for children with special needs. Can anyone recommend a New Jersey attorney who can assist her with this?  She is in Old Bridge, so proximity to the Middlesex/Monmouth County area would be ideal.

    Thanks in advance!

    Marisa

    Hi Marisa,

I've done this kind of work before. I'm located in Collingswood (outside of Philadelphia), but if she can't find anyone local, I could probably do most of this online or over the phone.

    Hi Marisa-

My office would be glad to help your acquaintance with this process.

Though we are not in the geographical area that you suggest, we have an office in Montclair (somewhat closer than our main Glen Rock office), but not much of this would have to be done in person anyway.

(As an aside, as a parent of two special needs children, this seems like a great idea for a program!)

    Thanks,
    Jo
