Bill streamlining confirmatory adoptions has passed both houses and is on to Governor Murphy.
Under proposed legislation, married or c.u. couples where non-bio parent is on birth certificate can apply for judgment of adoption with no hearing, no home study and no background checks. Will have to attest that no one else has a right to parentage.
