Colleagues -
Client is unmarried and has an almost one year old child. Father has not paid any child support nor any prenatal or hospital related expenses. Client wishes to now file for child support. In light of Kakstys v. Stevens and Kelly v. Kelly regarding retroactivity, what would be the likely date on which child support would begin? Could it be retroactive to birth or is the almost one year a lost cause?
Any insight would be appreciated.
