  • 1.  Register foreign Judgment

    Posted 01-08-2019 03:44 PM
I have a client who was divorced in TN in 2014, with a parenting plan that granted mom primary custody and dad parenting time, along with ordering dad to pay child support.  In 2016, dad moved to NJ and mom filed a motion in TN to change the parenting time, dad filed a cross motion requesting custody.  TN Judge gave his opinion on November 16, 2017 transferring primary custody to dad and ordering mom to pay child support to dad.  Mom appealed trail court decision and the appeal decision affirmed trial court's decision.  My client now wants to register the Order in NJ as the children have been living with him since December 25, 2017.  I am presuming this to be two parts (which I  may be incorrect) as it deals with custody and child support.  He would like to have all enforcement hearings, if needed, held here.

Can someone advise how to do this and if possible provide any examples for same.

    Thank you in advance.
