Hi All, I am looking for a recommendation for an Attorney in the Williamsport PA area that has experience with College procedure relative to student life. I have a 20 year old college student who was left with a suicidal dorm mate in the dorms. Residence called EMT and EMT arrived and found the girl with a razor blade in her hand, and my client attempting to get it out of her hands. EMT did not call police. Suicidal student is over 18 years old and stated she would not go to the hospital. EMT and residence head left the suicidal girl in the care of my client, leaving my client in fear for her safety and life and the girls' life all night long. School is now telling my client to "keep her mouth shut" and not discuss the incident because they claim it violates the other girls' "HIPPA" rights – which of course is not true and is just a threat to keep her from talking about the incident. I believe my client needs an attorney to send a letter to the college to demand a meeting, to address how the incident was handled vis-à-vis my client (and of course the suicidal girl) and perhaps assist in reevaluating how these matters are handled at the college in the future.
