  • 1.  Question about Tevis claims

    Posted 01-05-2023 10:24 AM
I have a client who I'm representing on a divorce with VCCO funding. She also has a potential Tevis claim. I don't necessarily feel capable of representing her on the personal injury claim, not least because I don't have the financial means to fund experts and such, but also because I haven't litigated a PI case in years.

I'd like to limit my representation to the divorce, but I don't want her to waive her personal injury claims. Is there any way that she can file the Tevis claim pro se while I represent her on the divorce?

get a personal injury attorney to be co-counsel with. you to represent her on the Tevis claim .  do not waive if it is substantial.  pro se, she will not know what to do and it would do her a disservice.  once the complaint is filed with all claims including tevis, with both attorneys designated for the divorce and tevis claim on the complaint, the tevis claim will be bifurcated from the divorce.

Yes, that is what we are doing. I am just worried about what happens if she can't find a PI attorney.
