  • 1.  Payment through probation

    Posted 03-27-2017 04:46 PM
Client wanted to pay through probation as ex was claiming she hadn't received payments he sent (concerned she was setting him up for an enforcement motion). Adversary and I submitted a consent order, which we received back.

I know there are other form(s) and a $6 fee to get a probation account set up. Usually, the parties fill out documents in the courthouse but this was all done via mail. Does anyone know which forms, who to contact, or how to set it up?

    Thanks,

    It's the IV-D form. Located here: http://njchildsupport.org/getattachment/Services-Programs/Custodial-Parents/Applying-for-child-support-services/Applying-for-child-support-services/NJKiDS_IVD_application.pdf.aspx

Pay $6 check to "treasurer, state of new jersey."

    Instructions in the PDF.

Thanks - we already have a USSO order. In Somerset, btw, attorneys are expected to complete the USSO order. I don't know of any other country that has us do it.

    Dear ListMates,

Please advise if you can recommend billing software that is straightforward and simple to use (and reasonably priced), that automatically calculates billing against retainers and carries calculations forward month to month.

    Thanks!

I use Rocket Matter, which has "one-click" invoicing.

I usually send a copy of the Order and a cover letter to the local Probation Department asking them to create the account pursuant to the Order (referencing the type, amount, and frequency of the support).

You can get the IV-D Application on the NJ Judiciary website here:

Probation will send it to the parties (or at least to the obligee).  I have tried submitting this form at the time I request the account be established, but Probation never accepts it.
