    Hello Family Law Section members,

    The New Jersey State Bar Association Town Hall Advocacy Program will be held on Monday, March 7 at the Trenton War Memorial from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

    Register to attend this annual event and hear from legislators and those they work with about how legislation moves through the process from drafting to passage.

    This year's town hall is called "Understanding the Legislative Process" and will cover the legal process, the administrative process, the lobbying process, and most importantly, the ethical implications throughout every step. Trenton State House staff will discuss how they field legislation and lobbyists will talk about how they move legislation from the outside.

    Discussion Topics:

    From Idea to Fruition—Drafting and Creating Legally Sound Legislation;
    Lawyer-lobbying: Advocating Your Client’s Interests to Move the Bill and Mobilize Support
    Rules of Professional Conduct and Lobbying.

    PA CLE: 1.5 substantive and 1.0 ethics credits pending ($12 check payable to NJICLE)
