Thank you. I would also add that if a Divorce Complaint is to be filed via JEDS, then what of the CLIS and the Insurance information?

I have question. If not emergent, is it permissible to file in traditional manner and not through JEDS?

Starr Gern wants to ensure the safety of our clients, our office team, and our colleagues during this uncertain time.  Starr Gern will remain open, but with safety precautions in place. Effective immediately, we are closed to all visitors, but will conduct any meetings telephonically or by video conference. Our office's main telephone number, (973) 403-9200, will still ring through to our receptionist, and each of our attorneys will still be available to you. To facilitate communication, we encourage everyone to communicate via e-mail or fax, rather than in paper form by regular mail.  Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience during this time.

Allan - you can still file this documents as you would if you had mailed them in. The court staff reviews the emailed filings and processes them as if they were mailed in. They will not disseminate confidential documents.

Charles - yes, you can still mail in non-emergent motions and other pleadings, but there might be a slight delay in processing.

These responses are based on what is happening in Ocean County, so your mileage may vary.

    Gregory is correct.
Morris/Sussex, Bergen etc. are all doing it the same. Mailed in or JED the essential staff goes in periodically and sorts through, processes  and disseminates  to judges.  Slow process since they are working remotely and only go in on certain days during the month .

In Bergen, the delivered mail, whether regular mail, Lawyers Service, Fed Ex or personal delivery, remains in a basket for at least 24 hours so any virus material dies?

    Alice:

Ecourts serves the adversary. As far as I know, JEDS does not do that. Am I correct!

Gregory. Thank you. That was my understanding, but then the JEDS website says/seems to say the complete opposite. It says do not file confidential docs. It would be great if it was just a depository / made clear it is just a depository.

Until the JEDS system allows use of your JACS account, many are not going to use it.

My experience is the Court is much more prompt with filings through the JEDs rather than snail mail. I am having my client's give me a credit card number to pay the filing fees through the JEDs or having them send me a check for the filing fees, and we input it under the ACH option on JEDs. It is working in Sussex and Morris cases.
