Egil "Bud" Krogh on...Integrity: Good People, Bad Choices & Life Lessons Tue, Dec 31, 9 AM - 1 PM
New Jersey Law Center
Presented in partnership with The Professional Education Group (P.E.G.®) July 15 to September 8, 1971: Seven weeks that changed the world, ultimately brought down a presidency, and inalterably shattered the rising star of a principled young lawyer. Bud Krogh was at the eye of that storm and brings us invaluable life lessons in decision making and personal and professional integrity.
Bud Krogh was the co-director of the Special Investigations Unit of the Nixon White House (the "White House Plumbers"). Of the many conspirators in that troubling time, Bud alone pled guilty and refused to trade inside information for a reduced sentence. He pled to a felony, lost his job, his career, and was disbarred. In 1980, with the help of enthusiastic character endorsements from Watergate Special Prosecutor Leon Jaworski and others, Bud was reinstated to the bar. His meteoric rise to power as a 29-year-old White House lawyer, his subsequent fall, and his truly exemplary post-Watergate 30-year career is a compelling and critically important story in 2013.
This engaging, thought provoking, entertaining and inspirational presentation provides concrete examples of the threats to integrity in the practice of law, in business and in government service. More importantly, it offers solid advice and focused methods to overcome such threats.
NJ CLE information: This program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 4.5 hours of total CLE credit. Of these, 4.5 qualify as hours of credit for ethics.
