To Fellow Members of the Bar:
I met Nancy Erika Smith many years ago at the Supreme Court argument of Rendine v. Panzer which, much to my dismay and to the delight of every plaintiffs' employment lawyer in the State of New Jersey, I lost and she won. I was impressed by her then and my respect for her talents, skills, and personality have only increased since. I endorse her and ask others to do the same in her quest to obtain the nomination for the Second Vice Presidency of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Her accomplishments both within the Bar Association and within the profession speak for themselves. Lest, however, some of you are not familiar with all of her activities, I am attaching an endorsement of her by Alan Zegas which recites at length her numerous accomplishments and reflects her numerous Bar activities. Nancy is not cut in the standard mold of a Bar officer - if there is one - but she would bring to the office of the presidency a different view and, perhaps, a different spirit than her predecessors. I do not question the quality and performance of her predecessors: many of them have been outstanding, but Nancy's qualities are slightly different and she would, in a role as Second Vice President and, hopefully, someday President, make us all proud. Nancy Erika Smith embodies many of the things that, when we were all young, we thought lawyering was about. I endorse her wholeheartedly and ask that you support her by voting for her.
