    Hello Family Law Section members,

On May 25, NJICLE will present Metadata for the Non-Tech Savvy Practitioner from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This seminar will also be one of our Annual Meeting and Convention programs, BUT, it is on at the same time as two other family law sessions on Wednesday, the 17th. AND, if you're not going to the Annual Meeting, you still might want to check this out.

Metadata is lurking in the background of anything sent by email or created on your computer (forms, Word Documents, Spreadsheets, and more). If you're not sure what that means, or how metadata works, you're potentially at risk of inadvertently sharing sensitive information with your adversaries, clients, and more.

There can be dire consequences if your adversary finds sensitive information in the metadata of documents you create, including breach of attorney/client privilege and other fiduciary duties. Fortunately, there are simple, easy-to-implement procedures that every attorney (even the least tech-savvy among us) can implement to protect themselves and avoid potentially costly issues before they arise. At this essential new program, you'll hear from a panel of leading legal experts and an expert business technologist, as they provide you with the tools you need to both identify and avoid issues presented by metadata.
