    Hello Family Law Section members,

On Wednesday, Aug. 9, NJICLE will present a program on what you need to know to handle a wide range of mental health issues in your practice.

Mental Health Law 101 will be held Aug. 9 at the New Jersey Law Center from 9 a.m. to 12:35 p.m.

Lawyers routinely deal with individuals suffering from mental illness. Sometimes clients suffer from acute episodes, requiring hospitalization or court evaluations. This seminar will review the voluntary and involuntary commitment process and the lawyer's role in it, competency, relevant case law, and patient's rights, as well as mental health issues that arise in criminal or family cases.

Register today to hear from an experienced faculty that will also review how to get your client an evaluation, available resources for the incarcerated, and community services.
