One thing that really surprised me at the most recent Morris County Bench-Bar meeting was learning that Morris County has historic vacancies in court staff positions. We've all been talking about the judicial vacancies, but there's a backlog in processing due to lack of personnel at the court clerk level.

After checking the "Submitted" tab daily for weeks, I finally started nagging the Family Case Management Office. You can add Middlesex and Somerset to the list, and now I'm waiting – not patiently – to hear from Hudson.

Has there been a general slowdown in returning "filed complaints with docket numbers in other counties besides Morris and Passaic? Pre-Covid I used to get a "filed" complaint returned in the mail in max of 5 days. During Covid, I used to get them emailed to me "filed" same or next day . Lately, (last couple of months), I filed on 3/22 and 4/5 and have not received a "filed" complaint back yet. I called and was told they're being processed.
WTH?
