  • 1.  JEDs filing and JACs account payment

    Posted 04-15-2020 04:37 PM

Hello all of my Family Law colleagues, FLEC members and all of those with influence with the powers at hand. Can anyone advise me as to when the JEDs account for filings will allow for filing fees to be paid from the JACs (cost) accounts. Currently the JEDs system will only accept credit cards with a $9.00 processing fee on their end, and of course there is a fee on our end, if we pay the filing fee and apply it to our client's bills. We can, of course, use our client's credit card to pay the filing fees; however, many of my clients are concerned about paying the filing fees, online, on a system they are not confident is secure. My efforts to pay through the ACH dropdown option have been unsuccessful, to date.

    Hi Faith.

NJSBA/FLEC are working directly with the court on this issue, and others, regarding the new filing system.

While we welcome the change and ability to file this way, the court rolled it out very fast and there certainly are issues that need to be addressed.

    Stay tuned :)
