Subject: Guidance for a Fee dispute with ethics assoc filed by ex-client
Friends,
I was looking to see if I could speak to someone about a free dispute I have with a client who claims that we took undue advantage during their family law case.
Briefly, this was a divorce filed by the husband, where he was making claims of annulment, fraud, immigration fraud, emotional abuse and cheating, and of course irreconcilable differences.
We charged a flat rate for the divorce with additional fees to be paid based on additional work that needed to be done; this was advised within the retainer.
I was hoping I could speak to someone, to explain what happened in the case and get some feedback on whether or not we could have potentially mismanaged the case - though I personally do not believe we did at all.
Thank you so much for your help in advance!
