Hello Civil Trial Bar Section and Family Law Section members,

On Saturday, Oct. 26, NJICLE will present a new ethics seminar focusing on two events that brought widely sweeping & permanent changes to our country and remain instrumental in teaching attorneys invaluable lessons about the practice of law and the role of ethics, Gettysburg Lessons for Lawyers.

This year marks the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, a decisive turning point in the American Civil War. It also marks the 150th Anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's recitation of the Gettysburg Address.

Gettysburg's Lessons for Lawyers uses examples from one of the greatest battles in U.S. history to provide you with leadership strategies you can apply directly to your practice & the cases you
    represent.
Historical episodes like Gettysburg are important because they convey a message to the present from the past. As an attendee, you'll learn through the analysis of personalities of the officers and men, the epic battle, and the battlefield about the clarity of lessons we can all use today. Participants will discover an array of legal qualities from advocacy to timing, that impact your daily law practices.

You'll hear how Francis Barlow's (a founder of the American Bar Association) actions on the first day of the battle underscore the importance of both morality and the importance of equality... even in the most challenging of situations. You will also learn how local Gettysburg attorney David Wills' dedication in developing the National Cemetery demonstrates the value of seeing tasks through to the end. Of course Lincoln's masterpiece, the 272 word Gettysburg Address, is not only a model of conciseness - it is also fertile grounds for a better understanding and adaptation of the Rules of Professional Conduct. During this fast-paced discussion, you'll pick up tips on the importance of communication, responsibility, representation, and client interaction as they relate to attorney ethics.

Register today to add "impact" to your professional and personal lives from this refreshing, interesting and fast-paced new seminar!
