Client, living and working in Germany, advises that he's been deducting alimony payments to the ex, who lives here in NJ. Apparently, this is verboten under German tax law. If he gets auditted by German tax authorities, he'll owe significant back taxes.
I'm clear that I'm not giving the guy tax advice, but do I have to do more? I can't see what, but hearing about this kind of activity has me nervous...
