Last week I was surprised to receive a notice for a default hearing on February 13, 2019!

This is going to cause a significant problem with cases we try to settle in the next two months before the #TaxScam kicks in and alimony is no longer deductible (so the funds can be taxed at the higher income rate paid by the supporting spouse rather than the lower rate paid by the recipient spouse, even though the funds won't be used by the supporting spouse and its thus an unfair shifting of the tax burden).
Anyway, perhaps Essex needs to start routinely putting uncontesteds through on the papers?
