  • 1.  Emanciaption & "Obamacare"

    My understanding is that under "Obamacare" a parent can cover a child on their health insurance until age 26.  Would an order emancipating the child trump Obamacare so as to deny the child coverage. Any authority to support the proposition that emancipation will still allow coverage would be appreciated.

    I started this email but am not sure it was sent. Anyway look at this:

    It appears as if a child can be covered in Nj up to their 31st birthday whether or not they are a dependent. I guess the issue is who pays?

    This has been a bad day for me as far as counteradvice, but I belkeve that emancipation as emancipation, egardless of "capacity" arguments. If the capacity was without economic consequences, that's one thing, but, in your case, it is not. IMO
