It looks like we finally have a system for submitting documents online.

Has anyone used this yet? Does it work?

It clearly says Family N/A. No ecourts filings are set up for the Family Division yet. I am sure there would have been a major announcement if there had been.

E-courts is not set up for family, however, the link provided specifically states attorneys should be using JEDS filing for certain family division cases. This appears to be another form of e-filing, while not the same system used in civil or criminal. The link mentions JEDS to be used for divorce and child support/custody cases. I have not tested it yet, but I am curious if anyone else has!

I tried it yesterday and it worked easily. In fact, the Court emailed me about an hour later advising that they received my document (consent order with relevant signatures) and would forward it to the judge for signature. It could not have been easier!

Do the judges know about this?  Yesterday, Judge Barnes told me to file my client's counterclaim via mail or the drop box at the courthouse (FD matter re custody and parenting time).

Separately, he offered to try to help us settle via Teams or Zoom, prior to my client filing her counterclaim.  Has anyone had Judge Barnes settle their cases? He said he settled "a lot" in FM and FD over the last two weeks and seemed very interested in trying to help us.

Yesterday was the first I heard about this. I never received a Notice To The Bar about it.

    Judge Barnes is terrific.
He is honest, straight forward and truly wants to help.
You should give him a shot.
