  • 1.  effective date of order

    Listmates:

I have always thought that an order is effective when the judge renders a decision, not when it may actually be put into a writing and signed.  That could be days later, particularly on a Friday motion day when there is a packed court room and there may not be time to worry about wording, just getting everyone heard and out by dark.  There is a difference of opinion in my office, and wondered what the membership at large knew or thought.

    TIA
