Dear list mates -
I just completed an FRO trial on behalf of plaintiff; she received an FRO against defendant who had several dozens of weapons (firearms, swords, knives, bow & arrows, nunchuks, you name it) confiscated from the home after the TRO was issued. Defendant is staying with family members in Pennsylvania and my client wanted to know whether he would be able to obtain other weapons in Pennsylvania.
The issue, I believe, is not whether PA gives full faith and credit to the NJ TRO, but rather whether the TRO will be a practical bar to him obtaining weapons. The new national gun control legislation should have some effect but I can't think that there's really going to be any way to keep him from buying a hunting knife, for instance. Any thoughts/guidance would be greatly appreciated!
