Since even same sex marriages in other states are only recognized as civil unions in NJ, the decision yesterday may do very little to grant federal rights and obligations to NJ couples.

(Warning - soap box post, not a legal question or answer)

Not everyone is giddy about the DOMA decision, or even happy about it -
Chris Christie attacks Supreme Court for gay marriage decision  // http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/06/27/chris-christie-attacks-supreme-court-for-gay-marriage-decision/

I think I'm going to file an Ethics Grievance against him.  Does this joker seriously think people choose to be gay and hence are not entitled to equal rights and marriage equality since it's a choice?

"I don't think the ruling [striking down DOMA] was appropriate," Christie said Thursday on his "Ask the Governor" radio show "I think it was wrong."  Chris Christe, 2013 (views renounced 20??).

So I ask again, where is our nj legislature? Why are they not doing a thing to override Christie's veto? I would like Sweeney to put his money vwhere his mouth is. His 'mea culpa, now I realize My no vote was wrong' are empty word. Where's the action? ANDwhere the heck is GARDEN STATE EQUALITY? Goldstein moved on and GSE seems to have lost its wings. ------------------------------------------- Marianne Auriemma Esq. Maywood NJ (201)712-9663 ------------------------------------------- Where is our nj legislature. Mr. Sweeney it is time to put one muscle behind your mpty words of apology, override Christie's veto. And did GSE disband after Goldstein's departure. GSE appears to be ineffective as we pop roach the 2 year deadline. Why aren't they pushing, Sweeney, codey, Et al?
