  • 1.  Difficulty obtaining uncontested date in Essex Co.

    Posted 12-04-2019 04:05 PM
I submitted a request to enter default with a signed MSA in October and after waiting a month to get the case "assigned" to a Judge, I just learned that the uncontested hearing has been scheduled for late January.  For tax reasons the parties would like to be divorced before the end of the year.  Has anyone else experienced this issue in getting an uncontested date in Essex?  Any recommendations as to what to do, besides begging and/or writing to the presiding judge?

Judicial system, help me to help you.

I also have an uncontested collaborative process divorce that has been filed and that is in queue but won't be scheduled until after the first of the year. My pleas have gone unanswered despite advising several persons in scheduling of some very time sensitive issues. What happened to wanting to clear as many cases off the calendar before year end?

Unfortunately, it is not the end of the Court year.  If this was June, you would have a very different response from the Court.  June 30th is the date that the court cares about.
