Webinar - Courtroom Gadgets & Gizmos: Making Life Much Easier, Efficient & Healthier For You and All Court Participants from
12 to 1:40 p.m.This practical new program, recently presented at Judicial College, will provide you with the Judge's perspective of how to use simple technology fixes in the courtroom. This is NOT a trial skills seminar, and instead focuses on common/real-world problems that occur during the course of a trial that can be easily overcome using simple technology or a bit of imagination.

• What can you do to calm a witness with physical or mental challenges, or a child so that they can testify, while at the same time ensuring that the accommodation doesn't prejudice the jury?
• How can you create a work around when technology that facilitates communication between a client and their attorney at side bar or in chambers fails?
• In a trial with extensive use of electronic evidence, how do you keep a record of what was played in court and on what device in case it is needed for post-trial proceedings or appellate review?
The
Hon. Sohail Mohammed, JSC, a Superior Court judge and electrical engineer, will share unique day-to-day technological and operational challenges that judges, court staff, attorneys and other court-participants encounter. Judge Mohammed will offer practical guidance, solutions, and work-arounds to address them, including some demonstrations of various gadgets, gizmos, programs and tools; analysis of several real-life case studies; simple effective techniques, practical recommendations and strategies to enhance and employ courtroom technology, devices and other aides in day-to-day settings.
CLE Credits:NJ CLE information: This program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 2.0 hours of total CLE credit.
NJ CLE: Please note - This program is presented as an alternative verifiable learning format, and has been approved for 2.0 credits (50 minute hour)
PA CLE: 1.5 substantive credits pending ($8 fee – separate check payable to NJICLE must be submitted at the end of the program)
NY CLE (nt): 2.0 professional practice credits
