    Hello friends:

The New Jersey State Bar Association takes seriously its mission to improve the legal profession.

In addition to our active amicus program where our members step in to submit briefs and argue matters that will affect attorneys across the state and our government affairs program that works to advance bills and reforms that improve the legal system, the NJSBA also provides comments on proposed court rule changes and Judiciary-issued reports.

In just the past few days, the NJSBA submitted comments supporting the state Supreme Court Special Committee on the Duration of Disbarment for Knowing Misappropriation's Report that recommended implementation of a path for readmission from disbarment.

And the Judiciary just released the annual Omnibus Rule Amendments that are effective Sept. 1. Earlier this spring the NJSBA addressed the Court at its annual public hearing, specifically about the Family Practice Committee Report and proposed the basis for the new parenting coordinator rule, as well as the Committee on Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement Committee Report. Read the full NJSBA comments here.

And stay tuned tomorrow for the Supreme Court decision in Cardali v. Cardali. The NJSBA filed an amicus brief. Read it here

    Stay safe. Stay well.
