    Hello listmates:

Last year I represented an 18 year old on a possession charge.  He was the client and he signed the retainer agreement.  Today, dad came to my office and asked me to file for the termination of child support for son as he is no longer attending high school and withdrew from his GED classes.  As son was client would this be "directly adverse" since the motion for dad would be filed against mom.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Best.

    Eric

    Eric:

     Hope all is well.

It may affect your former client adversely. Don't do it. Refer it out and sleep better.

Agreed w Bob. Child support belongs to child. This would be adverse to him as former client.
