- On Wednesday evening at 8 p.m., "Celebrating NJSBA President-Elect Jeralyn L. Lawrence" will kick things off at the Gypsy Bar.
- On Thursday, The Family Law Section will celebrate and install 2022-2023 leadership at the Officers Swearing-In Ceremony from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in Salon C.
- The Section luncheon at Old Homestead follows from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- All convention attendees are invited to the INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS AND TRUSTEES at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Box Theatre.

Wednesday, May 18The Family Law Section CLE programming begins on
Wednesday at 1:45 p.m. with
Parenting Time Issues Involving Teenage Children in Salon C at Borgata. This seminar will examine how to resolve disagreements among separated parents involving teenage children. Do the teenagers get to control with whom they spend their time? How do we address situations in which teenagers refuse to go with one party for his/her parenting time? Does parallel parenting work in situations involving teenagers?

This seminar will examine how to "equitably" distribute non-traditional assets and liabilities, including cryptocurrency, leases, health spending accounts, flexible spending accounts, insurance policies, rent-controlled apartments, lines of credit, personal estate-related liens, and the like. Should these be valued? Can they be distributed in kind?

College and Graduate School Contributions: Who has an Obligation to Contribute? The parties get divorced when their children are young. Their agreement is silent as to how to pay for college. How do we evaluate each party's obligation (if any) to contribute to their children's college expenses? Re-Examining the Child Support Guidelines in 2022 will begin at
1:45 p.m. in Salon C. The basic structure of the Child Support Guidelines has remained largely unchanged for many years. Do the Guidelines adequately address shared parenting/50-50 parenting time situations? Do the Guidelines properly address scenarios in which children have different parenting time schedules with their parents? How can we creatively calculate child support on the Guidelines in 2022?

Guardians Ad Litem: Who Can Serve, What Can They Do and How Can They Be Used? will be held in Salon C. In this seminar, we will examine who can serve as a Guardian Ad Litem in Family Part litigation. We will examine the powers of the Guardian Ad Litem, as well as when to consider using a Guardian Ad Litem. We will discuss the recommendations that a Guardian Ad Litem can make, along with other issues pertaining to Guardians Ad Litem.
