Listmates,
Appendix IX-B says that child support received for children of another relationship is a type of income excluded from gross income (pgs 2606 &2624 of 2014 NJ Rules), but my Easy Soft program income tab on child support has a spot to input child support received by the parent. So, when calculating child support for someone getting child support from the prior husband, do you put the already existing child support amount under the non-taxable income section in the child support income tax?? This means it is not being treated as gross income, but rather as non-taxable income. If the child support is added in, should the children of the former relationship be included in the number of exemptions?
