Good afternoon Family Law Section members,
On Wednesday, Aug. 23, NJICLE will present ChatGPT, Other A.I. and the Impact on Your Practice from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Online.
Artificial intelligence (AI) has arrived. For some, it is an exciting new way to use technology. For others, it instills a fear reminiscent of Hal in “2001 - A Space Odyssey.” Whichever category you fall into, or even if it is somewhere in between, you need to learn about this new technology that will have a significant impact on the practice of law.
The emerging technology of ChatGPT, a powerful AI language model, has the potential to further transform legal practice. Lawyers and legal professionals can use it to aid in legal research, contract drafting, document review and even to provide general legal advice on common issues. It can improve efficiency, save time and effort and improve access to justice or clients.
There are, however, potential dangers that lawyers need to be aware of when using the AI. Lawyers must use this evolving AI tool responsibly and ethically, taking into account the potential legal and ethical issues that may arise from its use and ensuring it does not replace the expertise and judgment of human lawyers.
Join our moderator, Dr. Robert Spangler, Assistant Executive Director, CISO at NJSBA, John Allen, VP of Cyber Risk and Compliance at Darktrace, James DiGiulio, Partner and General Counsel at O’Toole Scrivo, LLC, Harry Halikias, Associate Director of Cybersecurity at New York Public Library, Sajed Naseem, Chief Information Security Officer at New Jersey Courts and Karen Painter Randall, Esq., Chair of Cybersecurity, Data Privacy and Incident Response at Connell Foley LLP, as they examine the developing issues related AI and ChatGPT in the practice of law and to discover the best practices for using it safely. By following best practices and staying informed, lawyers will be able use artificial intelligence and ChatGPT to enhance their legal work and provide more efficient and effective services to their clients.
Darktrace, a world-leading autonomous cyber security AI company, was named One of TIME Magazine's '100 Most Influential Companies' alongside companies including Apple, Headspace and Pfizer.
