    -------------------------------------------

    Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As a practicing New Jersey Attorney for more than 30 years, I have been actively involved in Bar Association activities on a State and local level, including as President of Women Lawyers in Bergen County and as a Bergen County Bar Association Trustee (for 9 years). Currently, I am serving my third term as a Section Trustee on the Board of the State Bar Association (the "Association").

I am proud to be a New Jersey attorney and a member of the Association. I am not pleased , however, with what is currently happening within the Association, as demonstrated on the front pages of the NJ Law Journal over the past few weeks.

Because of these concerns, after much reflection and discussion with leaders of many sections and committees, I have decided to run by petition for the position of Secretary of the Association.

For my colleagues, who are not familiar with my work for the New Jersey Bar, here is a brief summary:

I am currently serving my third term as Trustee of Association. For more than a decade, I have served as a member of the Supreme Court Committee Complementary Dispute Resolution Committee. Previously I served on the Supreme Court Family Practice Committee and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section. I have chaired the Association's Dispute Resolution Section. Currently I serve as DR Section liaison. I am also a member of the Women in the Profession Section and Family Law Sections; the Judicial Administration Committee; the Long Term Planning Committee; the Meeting Arrangements and Program Committee; the Membership and Public Relations Committee and the NJ ICLE Advisory Committee. I teach the NJ ICLE Divorce and Civil Mediation trainings and lecture frequently for NJ ICLE.

Among the awards that I have received are: the Boskey ADR Practitioner of the Year Award; the Association/ ICLE Distinguished Service Award; the Association Dispute Resolution Section "Legend of ADR" Award. Recently I was honored to become a member of the National Association of Distinguished Neutrals. I also had the privilege of serving as a judge at the International Chamber of Commerce Mediation Competition in Paris earlier this month.

Please support me in my quest to be on the Ballot by signing the attached Petition for Nomination as Secretary of the New Jersey State Bar Association and mail it (no e-mails allowed) to Bonnie Blume Goldsamt, Attorney at Law, 25 Pompton Avenue, Suite 101, Verona, New Jersey  07044  as soon as you can. I need all signed petitions in hand by March 15, 2013 (note: the deadline for delivery to the Association is March 18th). Petitions may contain one or more original signatures. All signing attorneys must be current members of the Association.

Thank you for your support and your friendship.

    Bonnie
