I have received overwhelming requests for the argument, but because I am unable to attach the argument due to its size, to watch it please do the following:

When you go to njcourtsonline.com, go to the bottom right, click on "archive section," that will then bring you to another page entitled New Jersey Supreme Court Video Archive, click on March 29, 2017, and under that you will see 5 cases, Bisbing is the 2nd, click on it and enjoy the next hour.

A sneak peek from the Member News you will receive tonight:

The NJSBA appeared as an amicus curiae party before the New Jersey Supreme Court on Wednesday for oral arguments in Bisbing v. Bisbing, a case that questioned whether or not the plaintiff, who did not have an attorney, made a clear, knowing and unmistakable waiver of statutory rights to have a court grant permission to relocate children.

NJSBA Trustee and Family Law Section Chair Timothy F. McGoughran argued on behalf of the Association saying that any waiver of rights must be clear and unmistakable and made with full knowledge. Read the brief here.

The Court reserved its decision to be released at a later date.

    Watch the Court webcast here.

    Have a great weekend everyone,

    Barbara

    Greetings,

I have had several requests from clients to recommend a person or company who advises on credit issues. For example, When is a good time to close a credit card, when is a good time to increase credit, how many credit cards should a young person have as compared to a 50-year-old?

Is there such an expert that provides these services that you have utilized in the past?

Please reply directly to me on or off line so that the community net is not bogged down with this issue if they're not interested

    Thanks , Bill

Please share the information with me when you receive it. This resource would be helpful to my clients as well - particularly with consolidation/negotiation of credit card debt and how it affects credit score, etc.

Sent from my iPhone, likely dictated, please excuse everything.

The confusion, I think, is that people click "Reply to Group" and change the subject line, thinking this will start a new thread / message. It doesn't.

If you click on Reply or hit the Reply (or Reply All) button, the "To:" line will look like this -- NJSBA_familylaw_61e8c2d6-9847-46be-aea0-df8d0c8e36e4@ConnectedCommunity.org (with the letters / numbers changing depending on what message you're responding to - here "_61e8c2d6-9847-46be-aea0-df8d0c8e36e4" is the message indicator for the ListServ)

The list serve ignores what you put as the subject line and uses the one you're responding to. For example, I'm changing the subject line on this message to  Clicking "Post New Message" instead of "Reply"

You have to select "Post New Message", not "Reply to Group" (or Reply to Sender ) to change the subject line and start a new topic.

Just a quick reminder since I know we've picked up a bunch of new members ... if you want to post a message on a new topic, you have to click the option reading "  Post New Message ." (assuming you're doing this from your email program and not on the website). If you click on " Reply to Group " and just click Reply in your email program, it will continue the thread / subject header. It will do this even if you change the "Subject" on your email (the list-serv will change it to the original one listed).

For example, if you received a message with the subject header "RE: Family Law : Anger management in Hunterdon" and just click "Reply" and change the subject to "Referral needed for
Amherst MA", your message will come through to the list under the header "RE: Family Law : Anger management in Hunterdon", but the body of the message will be on the referral request.
