    Greetings,

    Former client's girlfriend settled her divorce over a year ago she hasn't heard from her attorney since the settlement was reached.  Every time she goes to the attorney's office, she is either told that he is in with a client or he is in court and he will get back to her.  Needless to say, there is never a return call.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  TIA.

    Good evening,

    Perhaps she should request a refund of any unused funds. That should at least force the attorney to review the file to see what work was actually done and give her an update. She can also go to the courthouse herself and take a look at the file. 
    If she would like another attorney, I also practice in New York and have an office walking distance from the Brooklyn courthouse.
