I worked over the weekend on an application for emergent relief from a decision from Judge Ospina, recently assigned to the Family Part in Hudson. The application was denied (awaiting word now from the Supreme Court as to whether that decision was correct).
If the Supreme Court does not act, client will need to file an order to show cause in the trial court (and/or answer one if adversary has already filed). I have heard a recording of the previous proceeding before the Judge, and she appeared personally angry at client (and addresses adversary, who's name is David, as "Dave" more than once). More angry than a judge should ever sound, regardless of the facts (which she has wrong).
While appellate work is statewide, I essentially have never been to Hudson and am trying to find someone who has had positive experience before Judge Ospina. If anyone qualifies, please give me a call.
(I'm saving a recounting of the facts, but they are extreme and should have warranted appellate involvement).
